Stop Asking for Permission: Coaching with Melessa (Episode 216)
In this week’s Slow Living coaching session, Melessa and I explore something so many of us struggle with: trusting ourselves enough to stop asking for permission.
This conversation is all about reclaiming your voice, owning your choices, and building a life that feels aligned from the inside out.
Building Routines That Actually Support You
Melessa shares how transformational her simple, consistent routines have become. A nightly wind-down, staying faithful to her CPAP, and honoring her natural rhythms have completely shifted her energy, mood, and focus.
She’s also built a sustainable writing routine, dedicating a few focused hours several days a week to finish her book by the end of the year (and her stretch goal: March!). There’s something powerful about structuring your creativity instead of waiting for inspiration to strike.
Together, we remind each other that routines don’t restrict you — instead, they free you.
Writing Honestly… and Compassionately
As Melessa delves deeper into her book, she opens up about the women who shaped her life. We talk about the delicate balance between telling the truth and honoring the people involved, especially when writing about family, tradition, and the roles women are expected to play.
The contrast between traditional and nontraditional roles becomes a doorway to deeper understanding, forgiveness, and growth. Melessa is finding her authentic voice, even when it feels vulnerable.
Remember — Slow Living is asking you to Simply Look Only Within.
Ask yourself open-ended questions, and then listen for the answer.
Trust in yourself that your true desires will come forth in the quiet.
As always, lots of love to you and yours.
