Building Your Village

In this week’s episode, Kelsea opens up about the very real challenges of trusting her in-laws with childcare and the complicated emotions that come with it.

As family dynamics shift and loved ones get older, she’s noticing how her instincts as a mom sometimes clash with the reality of needing support—and how tricky it can feel to let go of control.

We also talk about what it looks like to dream for yourself versus dreaming for your kids. For Kelsea, it often feels much easier to create a big, beautiful vision for her children’s futures than it does to imagine one for her own.

That realization sparks an honest conversation about how deeply motherhood shapes identity and how important it is to honor your own needs, too.

Together, we explore what building support might look like moving forward—especially during high-demand seasons like summer.

From caring for aging parents to staying accountable to her own growth, Kelsea is learning that creating a “village” isn’t just about asking for help—it’s about redefining what support looks like in every new chapter of life.

Where's my village? ?

Things to Remember:

  • It’s normal to feel conflicted about letting go of control when it comes to childcare and family dynamics.

  • Motherhood often makes it easier to dream for your kids than for yourself—but your own goals matter just as much.

  • Building your “village” means honoring your needs, asking for help, and adapting support systems as life shifts.
