Understanding Capacity
We are all different, and we all have unique capacity levels and abilities.
Hi there pretty people, and thank you so much for being here.
Today’s episode is all about capacity. We’ve all see the facebook meme that talks about a cell phone needing to be charged — and the text on the graphic says something like, “you wouldn’t let your phone batter get this depleted, so why are you allowing yourself to get that way?” —
and it’s an interesting graphic, and on the surface, it probably makes a lot of sense.
But humans are not tech devices. We can’t merely plug ourselves in and think that’s all it takes to “recharge.”
and that is what today’s episode is all about.
The definition of disappointment is when your expectations don’t meet reality and this happens often in life. Many times it happens when we have reached our capacity limit.
Day to day your capacity can change, depending on many variables that you can’t control.
You are not a computer or a cell phone — you’re a human and “recharging” your battery isn’t always super simple.
Within this episode we talk about what you can do to recharge yourself and how to protect your boundaries from others who may be draining.
I also talk about a “Bucket Filling” book that my children read in school — and one that is a great metaphor for life.
At the end of the day, you can really only rely on and control yourself.
And that is terribly tricky!!
I also explain how to stretch yourself — if you find that you need to work on building up your capacity to try new things or learn new things I talk about getting yourself into “the stretch zone” — because that’s where you are able to really grow and thrive.
This is an episode you’re going to want to listen to a few times — it’s jam-packed with lots of practical tools you can begin implementing right away!
