Hey Steph, How Do You Make Money Online?

I’m so glad you asked.
🙂

I’ve been writing and making money online since 2008, and in this newest podcast episode I will share how I do it.

Starting an online business is exactly the same as starting ANY business — you’ve got to give the people what the people want.

Sometimes you can get lucky and find a trend and ride that wave — but please know that will always (ALWAYS!!) be short lived.

With the rise of digital platforms, the opportunities to earn money online have multiplied. This can be a good thing, but it’s also really overwhelming and it’s difficult to figure out what is real and what is a scam.

Trust me, I have fallen for my fair-share of scams online but thankfully they have been few and far between because I try my hardest to do the things FIRST that I outline in today’s podcast episode.

Within this episode, I’m sharing my journey to making money online, including the lessons I’ve learned along the way. We’ll discuss how to distinguish between viable opportunities and potential scams. Whether you’re a beginner or looking to scale your online income, these insights will help you make informed decisions.

If you’re ready to dive into the world of online business, I want you to think of yourself as the lighthouse—steadfast, grounded, and guiding others to your offerings. By staying true to your vision and consistently delivering value, you’ll attract the right audience to your online venture.

I do not believe the notion that “you have to spend money to make money.” Many people do, of course, but what’s so great about turning to the internet to start your business is that it’s a very low barrier to entry.

I started my first website (crockpot365.blogspot.com) with absolutely no money down, and at it’s peak it made $1000 a day in banner ads. It also was voted the #3 food blog in the US by Cision in 2012.

This for-free website led to national media exposure, a lucrative book publishing deal, and 6 weeks on the New York Times best-sellers list.

Not bad for a mom working from the kitchen table in her fuzzy slippers!!

😉

In this podcast recording I also talk about The Blox.

In February, I flew to Tulsa, Oklahoma and filmed Season 13 of The Blox @betablox , hosted by Wes Bergmann @westonbergmann .

It was an absolute blast, and I enjoyed every bitty minute of it.

I coached and mentored aspiring entrepreneurs as they pitched their ideas and honed their business plans.

Our season is now available to watch via The Blox app.
(download it, it’s free!)

If you’ve ever been interested in entrepreneurship in any way — The Blox is where it’s at.

This isn’t fake or phony — these are REAL businesses getting real-life input, advice, and mentorship in real time.

Thank you to Wes, Cassie, Chris, @chrismarigolf and the amazing Blox Team.

PS:
If you are interested in appearing on the Blox or learning more, LMK. This is legit, and hands-down a fantastic business school in a box.

Here is how you can watch without the Blox app, if you’d like.
