What happens when tragedy occurs? Amylee’s Story episode 149 of the Slow Living Podcast

Hi there pretty people, and thank you for being here. My friend Amylee, of the Productive Mama website, is back today to share with us her Slow Living story.

Last week Amylee shared her tips for raising successful Tweens and Teens.

This week, she is sharing her story — and I have included a trigger warning on this episode.

Amylee was involved in a bus crash that did have fatalities. Within this episode she recounts the few minutes that happened right after the accident and it may be quite distressing for some to hear.

If you think it would be better for you to not listen — that’s okay. Listen to your brain and your body and find something else that feels good in the archives.

That said, Amylee is a phenomenal human and I’m so thankful that she has been gracious enough to share so we can learn from her advice and wisdom.

Listen in as Amylee shares how her family came together to help each other — both physically and mentally — in the aftermath of the crash, and how her local community helped in many ways.

We are talking about:

  • 🚌 How her kids handled the crash
  • 🚌 PTSD
  • 🚌 How it caused her to Slow Down to recover and lean on others to help
  • 🚌 How she looks back on that experience now

Within this episode we discuss how unfair life can be sometimes, and how while you can’t plan for tragedy, you can begin to make an effort to mobilize in case an emergency strikes.

Before the crash happened, she had already created a freezer meal club to bless a different family each month with a set of meals.

Because of this, when this tragedy happened outside of their scheduled meetups, her group was able to act quickly and get meals to families in need right away.

She wants to share with you how she started this club and how you can too!
