Episode 32 of the Slow Living Podcast: Dealing with Disappointment

see all Slow Living Podcast notes, here.

Today’s episode — # 32 — is something near and dear to my heart.

I have always been a day dreamer. I love planning things out in my head and then finding a way to orchestrate my dreams into reality.

my daydreaming serves me well —

unless other people are involved. Because I CAN NOT expect other people to read my mind and act out my day dreams.

And that is what today’s episode is all about!

🙂

In this episode I also answer a listener question from Kylie about planning for family events and occasions (we are specifically discussing Mother’s Day, here) so you are not set up for recurring disappointment.

after listening you will:

? learn my suggestions on how to feel all of your feelings — and the child development tool I use with my own children and coaching clients

? listen in as I explain how I keep myself from expecting unrealistic things from my own family & friends

? hear my ideas on how to reset your mindset on what is “realistic” and “unrealistic”

? begin to shift your perspective on why other humans behave the way they do

? learn what to do to protect your boundaries before they get crossed

? hear my advice to Kylie who calls in asking how to navigate Mother’s Day with extended family

? learn what Paula Deen (yes, Paula Deen!) does in her own family for Mother’s Day

I Need Your Help.

please.

When I first had the idea of recording a podcast show, I wanted to be as “interactive” as possible. I loved the idea of an old-fashioned radio call in show —

but I’m running out of questions!!  My techy people have set up a way for you to record your own voice asking a question — and I’d love for you to participate!

If you are a fan of the show, or have any questions, comments, or feedback, I’d LOVE for you to take the time to record something so it’s not just my voice on the microphone.

If you have your own website or blog that you’d like to promote and leave the URL along with your question or feedback, that is okay with me. 🙂

HEY STEPH: I don’t want to record, but I do have a question.

OKAY! Just email me back. I am collecting questions to respond to —

HEY STEPH: I don’t have a question but if you give me one, I’ll help you out by recording it for you in my voice.

THAT WOULD BE AWESOME. I have a list of submitted questions and would love help getting a “new voice” to read them into the recorder.

Just email me and let me know.

THANK YOU!!!

I hope you enjoy this episode — and AS ALWAYS — if you have any questions or comments, shoot me an email or tag me @stephanieodea

on Instagram or Facebook or record a voicemail question.

Consider yourself loved and hugged. I think you are wonderful.
