Happy Friday Eve, Slow Down Society!
Maya Angelou is quoted in saying, “when you know better, you do better.”
I first heard this quote in my teens through watching the Oprah show. I had a routine of coming home from school, making myself a snack, and watching Oprah while (sort of) doing my homework until my parents got home.
I love researching things and often find myself in some sort of rabbit hole googling and clicking and downloading —
not all the things you find and research are important.
(PS: currently I’m researching the least-dusty puzzle brands)
But sometimes the stuff you find makes sense and your brain and body responds in a way that you realize you need to do something with what you just learned.
- –> Maybe you learned that the way someone was treating you is toxic.
- –> Maybe you learned that you might be drinking too much.
- –> Maybe you learned that you’ve really got to cut down on sugar.
- –> Maybe you learned that your child isn’t doing well in school.
- –> Maybe you learned that you are overspending and not saving enough.
When you know more, you do better.
EXCEPT:
a lot of times we ignore the “doing better” part because it’s a lot of work.
Change is hard.
Doing the next best thing might be a tad uncomfortable.
I’m not here to talk you into anything. I just want you to know that wherever you are, you are not alone. If you’d like to learn more about working together, here is the one-on-one coaching info, and here is how to join Simple Shortcuts to Peace.
Or: just email me. 🙂
I think you are wonderful.
lots and lots of love.
Please take care.
xoxo steph
