there is this internet meme that makes the rounds every few months —
“I love how being an adult is just saying ‘but after this week things will slow down a bit again’ to yourself until you die”
ugh. yikes.
not good.
It does NOT have to be this way. I do not want this for you.
I do not want this for your children or for my children.
In the Slow Down & Simplify ebook I go over the 5 steps you need to take in order to Live Slowly —
and I go over them again in great detail in the first few episodes of the Slow Living Podcast.
don’t be busy just for the sake of being busy.
you can actually accomplish MORE when you take the time to SLOW DOWN.
stop.
take a deep breath.
what are you doing right now?
is it important?
are you making forward momentum on your goals?
or are you keeping yourself busy just for the sake of being busy?
I really only ‘work’ two hours a day —
but I get an awful lot done.
weekends are full of naps, hikes, and goofing off —
You are not destined to live in a frantic and frenzied state —
that’s not fun. that’s not sustainable. and it’s not a recipe for a life well lived.
Go Slow. Enjoy.
Happy Friday Eve.
consider yourself loved and hugged.
I think you are wonderful.

Thanks for lifting my spirit!
When I retired and slowed down in December 2018, I became the person I always wanted to be. I always knew that being busy all the time wasn’t the right way to live. My 90 year old mother asked me: “How do you keep busy,” My answer: “I don’t.” Trust me on this one, y’all: Living your life like a rat in a maze is NOT “living.” Go slow and be happy.
