Mommy Blogger Next Door ebook

By Stephanie O'Dea

Excerpt from The Mommy Blogger Next Door:

Meet the Mommy Blogger Next Door

This book will introduce you to a new way to have it all. I will share stories of “Real Moms Making Real Money, at Home, in Their Pajamas”—all while still being the primary caretaker of their children.
I’m not here to fan fires in the Mommy-War debate about whether moms should stop working outside the home to be fulltime with their children. Our society works best when there are business owners and employees of both genders working side by side. This is a fact; it’s not debatable.
Maybe you don’t want to stay home with your kids. Maybe you’re already retired.

That’s okay—the stories and how-to’s that I share will work for anyone, regardless of gender, and regardless of income goals.

Maybe you only want or need an additional $100 a month.

Maybe you are just trying to pad the college account for your kids, or maybe you are ready (as I was) to make a fulltime living in your jammies and fuzzy slippers while watching Zak and Wheezie bicker on Dragon Tales.
It’s up to you.
This book will hopefully inspire those moms who are on the fence about becoming stay-at-home moms. It’s to help encourage the moms who are worried about losing their identities, their sense of self-worth, their connections with other thoughtful adults, and a steady paycheck.
Perhaps you are already a stay-at-home parent and are looking for something to do during nap time to pad the grocery budget. Or perhaps you are currently working fulltime or part-time at a job you hate, and would love to learn how to run a successful website from home while caring for your children.

Because I happen to be female, and happen to be a mother of young children in the home, I have chosen to stick to the term “Mommy Blogger” throughout this book just for simplicity’s sake. This does not mean that the advice offered here does not apply to men, or to women who do not currently have young children in the home.
