Personal Power with No Hustle

Are you feeling like you’ve done everything right—and still aren’t where you thought you’d be?

You’re not alone.

Many of us, especially in midlife, find ourselves quietly wondering: Is this it? Did I miss my shot at “making it”?

We followed the rules. Worked hard. Showed up. Played nice. Did the things.

And yet, we’re still chasing something… uncertain.
Still waiting to feel stable, fulfilled, whole.

In episode 193 of the Slow Living Podcast, we explore what real, lasting personal power looks like—and spoiler alert: it has nothing to do with hustle culture or white-knuckling your way through life.

The Problem with “Making It”

You’ve probably heard the quote:

“The curse of growing old before you grow rich.”

It resonates because so many of us feel like that window of opportunity—the one where we were “supposed to” climb the ladder, build the brand, make the money—has closed.

But what if that feeling isn’t a curse at all?

What if it’s freedom?

The freedom to stop performing.
To stop chasing the Joneses.
To stop measuring success by yachts and five-star resorts.

And instead, start living—truly living—a life you want.

The 5 Steps to Slow Living (and Personal Power)

If you’re ready to reclaim your energy and attention, these are the five steps I teach in my book and coaching practice. They also serve as the foundation for true personal power:

  1. Declutter What’s Not Working
Let go of obligations, relationships, habits, or even internal beliefs that drain you. Make room for what actually matters.

  2. Know Where You’re Headed
    Not a five-year-plan. Just direction. Intention. A value-aligned path.

  3. Stay Positive and Present
Focus on now. Trust that you are equipped to handle this moment—and the next.

  4. Take Baby Step Action Daily
You don’t need to leap. Just keep going. Small, consistent movement is still movement.

  5. Tweak and Fine Tune
Give yourself grace. Adjust when needed. Pivot when called. Nothing is permanent—you get to evolve.

Stop White-Knuckling. Start Living.

If you’re tired of grinding your gears and still feeling behind…

If you’ve been waiting for permission to stop hustling…

Let this be your sign.

Your life doesn’t need to be a performance.
It doesn’t need to go viral.
It doesn’t need to impress your neighbor.

It only needs to feel right to you.
