Good morning Slow Down Society!
I hope you are having a lovely week so far and that you can have a bit of fun today and that your Mother’s Day weekend goes the way you’d like it to.
I’ve coached a lot this week.
And the theme with all of the women I’ve chatted with is that May is a very tough month.
it just is.
and sometimes the very best thing you can do when you are in the midst of a super stressful and busy season is to truly imagine sitting in the front car of a roller coaster.
and hold the safety bar tight.
and holding on tight — getting through a tough time —
IS OKAY.
it is an appropriate response.
and it does NOT MEAN YOU ARE FAILING.
I promise.
I wish I could wrap my arms around you and hug you tight.
stop beating yourself up if the house seems a bit messier right now.
stop being annoyed that your kids aren’t behaving all that well —
nobody’s kids are behaving well right now. Everybody is stressed.
There are more tests in May, there are more field trips, there are more end-of-year parties, barbecues, graduations, weddings, and get-togethers (for seemingly no reason?)
then there are in any other month.
Also, the weather is shifting so now you need to wear different clothing that might show more skin then you’d prefer to after months of sweaters and jeans and boots —
and then right in the middle of it is MOTHER’S DAY.
which brings up a whole new avalanche of thoughts and worries and insecurities.
You are not alone.
Please know that you are doing a fantastic job and that it’s okay to merely have a goal of “getting through the month” —
that is A-OKAY.
when all else fails, just put one foot in front of the other.
As always, reach out to me if you’d like help. I am here for you.
I love you
I’m proud of you
I think you are wonderful
please take care of yourself.
xoxo steph
