As we wrap up 2024, I’m bringing you one final encore episode to close the year with a message that’s been weighing on my mind: Everybody Has SOMETHING.

What does that mean?

It’s simple—we all have a past. Maybe it’s something you’d like to change about yourself or something difficult you’ve been through. But here’s the thing: whatever your “something” is, it doesn’t define you, and it doesn’t justify your behavior.

 

 

 

In this episode, I’m reminding you that as adults, we have the power to choose our next steps.

 You can decide to move forward, to heal, and to create the life you want. If your past feels heavy, know that you’re not alone. There’s always help and hope waiting for you—don’t hesitate to reach out and take it.

 

Let this be your encouragement as we head into a new year. Let go of the weight of your “something” and seize the opportunities ahead.

 

I’ve written about recovering from trauma and how to heal your inner child in the past, and in the new Slow Living book I talk about how to make peace with the here and now so you can plan for the future.

Because while it STINKS to have had bad stuff happen — it doesn’t need to paralyze you and keep you from moving forward towards living out a life you’ve crafted and sculpted on purpose.


Whatever bad thing has happened to you — own it. Heal from it. And then begin to look around to find evidence that you can continue to move forward.
