Hi there Slow Down Society and happy podcast day.

The newest episode of the Slow Living podcast got released and in it I discuss Diet Culture and what it means to be living in a bit of a fat-phobic society.

I ended up recording this episode pretty much in the middle of the night because I had so much chatter in my brain I wanted to get out of my brain and into yours —

😉

I want to talk about diet culture and some of the pressures that you can have from society around diets.

The number one thing I want you to take away from this episode is the need for self love!

The love you have for yourself needs to be complete and total unconditional love.

Even though the scale might not be the number you want or your favorite pair of pants don’t fit like they use to, the most important thing to remember is to love yourself unconditionally.

In my coaching, I talk about health at every size with my clients. Because health is not just the number on the scale, it is also how you feel inside.

Are you able to take your dog on a walk?

Are you able to play with your kids or grandkids?

Health is about so much more than the physical appearance.

When it comes to food, I don’t cancel anything out. I believe in balance and living life to the fullest — if you want something go for it.

However, I do have an acronym for “DIET” that I use every day and it’s something I talk to my coaching clients about.

A Diet isn’t something you go on or off — it’s simply an eating plan. So I’d like for you to also use this acronym when you think about food and your eating plan:

Do I Eat This?

Before I start eating something, I often ask myself how will it make me feel? This is something that has helped me in my personal journey, and I hope you find it helpful.
