The newest episode of the Slow Living podcast is out and in it I interview Sandi MacDonald of the IAPMD.org website.
April marks the beginning of PMD Awareness Month, and I am so happy to have Sandi on the show.
She is the co-founder of IAPMD which is the International Association for Premenstrual Disorders.
Sandi shares how she started experiencing different symptoms and behaviors early in her life, as early as high school.
Through many years of struggling emotionally and physically, she was always asking what was happening to her. She saw doctors, therapists, and tried different medications, but nothing was a cure.
It was not until she became a mother that she finally started to find answers. Sandi discovered that she had PMDD (Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder). PMDD is something that is not widely talked about but Sandi has decided to bring it to the surface!
We are answering your questions:
- – What are the classic symptoms to look for in PMDD?
- – Is there a link between PMDD and a hormone imbalance?
- – Does PMDD mean that perimenopause and menopause will be more difficult to go through?
- – Does alcohol increase symptoms?
-
