Hello hello Slow Down Society and happy Tuesday!

Today’s podcast episode is a topic that has been percolating in my brain for quite a while —

and it’s a big part of my every day parenting. 😉

I’m not sure about you — but I try to impart “life lessons” on the kids each time they leave the house —

I say things like:
drink a lot of water
wear sunscreen
take a sweater
don’t do drugs
stay away from creepy people
and…
don’t join a cult!

In this newest episode of the Slow Living Podcast I share how I had an early fascination with cults starting with the Waco, Texas compound of Branch Davidians led by David Koresh.

I remember watching Live TV (remember live tv??) — and seeing the federal agents surround the compound and then the fire set intentionally by the people inside and just felt flabbergasted —

how could such a thing happen?

how could people choose on purpose to follow a leader to their demise?

I also talk about feeling disappointed in myself for watching so much of the Duggar family when my own children were little and wishing that I was smart enough to have figured out that I was watching cult-behavior played out—

I also talk about online marketers who try to “create” a cult-like following and how many of the direct sales companies are modeled this way.

One of the things that comes up quite a bit when I’m on coaching calls with people who feel they have “fallen” for some of the things talked about in this episode is shame & regret.

First off, succumbing to online noise and nonsense is VERY VERY COMMON. You haven’t done anything wrong and you have nothing to be ashamed of —

the entire business model is to get you to turn off your inner voice and intuition to follow without question.

and that’s the opposite of Slow Living —

Slow Living is about putting your intuition and inner guidance FIRST and FOREMOST —

deep down inside, when you’re quiet, when you’re still —

that’s when the answers come.

If you have any questions, let me know — I’m happy to help.
if you’d like to share your own story — shoot me an email and we can arrange an interview for the podcast, or you can leave a voicemail, here:

As always, I think you are wonderful.

Consider yourself loved and hugged.
