episode 77: Lisa’s Slow Living Story — building sustainable habits

March 28, 2023

Hi there pretty people, and happy Tuesday!

We had an early-morning earthquake in the SF Bay Area this morning. I was already up and at my desk — it was about a 3.4 and it felt like a truck hit the house.

and it was interesting — because throughout my whole life I was taught what to do during an earthquake, so my body went into muscle-memory and I immediately headed to the nearest doorjam —

no thinking. just actioning.

(PS — everyone and everything is JUST FINE. Sheldon slept through the whole thing…. silly boy. )

And it got me thinking about today’s podcast episode where I interviewed Lisa Lizotte of the Habits and Home website and podcast show.

interview with Lisa of habits and home podcast

Because the thing is — when you have habits in place — you no longer need to think about them. They just happen automatically.

In our house, we do the Daily 7.

In Lisa’s house, she does the Daily Reset (sign up for her newsletter and get the reset checklist sent right away)

There’s no more thinking — just actioning.

and not in a frantic or hustley way. We are only interested in doing things that feel good and are simple and sustainable.

In this interview Lisa shares how she needed to clean out her parents’ home when they passed away suddently and how that experience led her to want to become more minimal.

In fact, she went so far as to sell their 2000 sq foot home and move  into an RV with her three kids!

She is the first to admit that this is extreme. Listen in as she shares what you can do RIGHT NOW to start living a simpler, sustainable life — one habit at a time.

live slowly and build sustainable habits

as always, I think you are wonderful.

Please take care of yourself and consider yourself loved and hugged.
