Episode 34 of the Slow Living Podcast: an Interview with Sandy Cooper

see all Slow Living Podcast notes, here.

I have a treat for you.

On today’s podcast episode I recorded a conversation with my friend Sandy Cooperof the Scoop on Balance website and the Balanced MomCast.

Sandy and I met online roughly 15 years ago — and we immediately hit it off.

Sandy has written an amazing book which shares her beautiful writing and essays —

this is a fantastic book to pack along with you on your summer vacation and it also is a FABULOUS gift for you and all of the moms in your life.

Listen in as we chat and share what Balance means — and whether or not it’s a myth and how Real Life is REAL.

after listening you will:

?? learn how Sandy explains her personal definition of what balance means — and what it doesn’t.

?? listen in as Sandy shares how you shouldn’t envision a tightrope or a perfect set of balanced scales

?? hear our ideas on how to love yourself unconditionally
?? begin to shift your perspective on how to reprogram your brain and “pluck” out the negative thoughts
?? learn what to do to help heal yourself or *try* to heal yourself from a traumatic life event
?? hear Sandy‘s advice on how to get through the day when faced with unthinkable tragedy
?? learn about how both of us are A-OKAY with both self-identifying as a mom first and foremost

For some reason, the audio on my microphone dipped in and out during this recording.

I’m really bummed this happened. 🙁

I am not exactly certain why this occurred, but it did.

I hope that even with the funky sound and volume issues you get a TON OF VALUE from this episode and fall in love with Sandy the way I originally did.

Would you like to win one of two signed copies of Sandy‘s book?

I have 2 right here, on my desk, that I am happy to mail out to randomly selected winners.

(PS: if you did this last week and sent me a screenshot I have already entered you in the drawing to win Sandy‘s book. 🙂 )

To enter, please leave a podcast review and send me a screenshot.

I will also send EVERYBODY who takes the time to do this a digital copy of any of my ebooks — your choice which one.

If you’ve never left a review on Apple Podcasts, it’s not the most user-friendly interface.

Here is a photo tutorial on how it works in the mobile app (app is easiest):

Here are the steps:

 1) Log into Apple Podcasts using the podcast app that comes with your phone

2) Search for “Slow Living” podcast
3) Click on it, and then scroll all the way down to where the review section is and click “see all”
4) Click on “write a review”
5) write a review and fill in the stars
6) Press send

Then: take a screen shot of your review and send it to me at steph@stephanieodea.com and I’ll send you back a digital cookbook, mealplan, or any of my other books

(2 4 6 EAT, How to Live Slowly, Clean Less Play More, Mommy Blogger Next Door) as a thank you,

and will also put your name into a drawing for one of the two copies of Sandy‘s Mom, You’re Amazing book.

I hope you enjoy this episode — and AS ALWAYS — if you have any questions or comments, shoot me an email or tag me @stephanieodea

on Instagram or Facebook or record a voicemail question.

Consider yourself loved and hugged. I think you are wonderful.
