Shiny Object Syndrome

By Stephanie O'Dea 1 Comment

Hello there, wonderful person.

I’m so happy you are here.

When you spend as much time on the internet as I do, it’s really hard to not get distracted by all of the shiny bouncy offers and THINGS that are vying for your attention.

All of these things — all of the schtuff —

it’s just noise.

tune it out.

turn it off.

go dark, and go within —

be still in your brain.

all of the little thoughts you have that float into your brain when you are quiet?

THAT is what you should listen to.

Not the internet marketer with the bullhorn.

Go quiet. Be still.

You already know what you should or shouldn’t be doing.

~~~
I was speaking with a friend of mine the other day —
I love her. She is wonderful.
Since I’ve known her, she has wanted to write a book.
I actually know an awful lot about writing books, but she’s never asked me for advice, and so I’ve never offered up anything unsolicited —
I asked how the writing was going when we were on a walk in the woods —
she said she downloaded a new software for formatting and watched 2 webinars on how to market books.
But.
She has only written a tiny snippet — even though since I’ve known her — (about 12 years) — she’s been talking about writing the book.
~~~

Is that you?

Is there something that you’ve always wanted to do but instead of taking baby steps forward to complete the thing you keep getting side tracked?

my wish for you today: stop overthinking and over planning — what is the next baby step you can take to move forward?

lots of love to you —

consider yourself loved and hugged.
