Hello there amazing people,
When I was growing up, my dad used to sing a lot and make up lyrics (he still does, and I find that now I do, too) —
and one of the songs he used to sing pretty darn often was:
If you want to be happy for the rest of your life, never
make a pretty woman your wife
PS: mom hated this song. Actually this might be one of the reasons dad sung it so often….
[if you are unfamiliar with this song, you can find the lyrics, here]
In the past 6 months or so I’ve started singing this song around the house — it has a catchy beat, it reminds me of my mom and dad and their playful banter, and I just really like the lyrics —
Not only are the lyrics well written and they tell a story, but there’s an element of truth in them (not the ugly wife part — bear with me)
the truth is: You are In Charge of your happiness.
That, to me, is what this song is about and why I like it so much.
You’re not happy?
Make a different choice.
I’ve written about this in the past, on the site, and now that it seems we are ALWAYS in a tumultuous time, the words are truer than ever.
If you are deep in a funk, sometimes it can be tricky to find happiness —
here is a free printable you can download right now
These are simple steps, but are all super achievable and even if you are not INSTANTLY happier — you will be much better off.
I’m here to help. Shoot me back an email or track me down in the facebook group and send me a PM
— I want to be of service to you.
have a great day and consider yourself loved and hugged and high-fived!!
