I have always loved stuffing. It’s my favorite part of holiday meals. I was diagnosed with Celiac Disease in October of 2007 and I remember thinking that my Thanksgiving dinner in November would be very different than before my diagnosis. How would I make my favorite stuffing with sausage? Good gluten-free bread wasn’t as available back then as it is today. Even with the gluten-free breads that are available today, it still takes time to toast it, cut it up and season it. When you are making a whole turkey dinner, it’s nice to have some short cuts!
I’m very excited that this year, I will have some help from Three Bakers!
Because I like sausage stuffing so much, I decided to make the Sausage Stuffing recipe on the box.
I browned the sausage in the skillet:
Poured out the stuffing mix into a casserole dish:
Added the cooked sausage and hot water and baked it in the oven! The house smelled so good! It came out crunchy on the top and soft and delicious on the inside. Just how I like it!
I served my Three Bakers Stuffing with rotisserie chicken and corn. It was so warm and comforting.
Notice the ratio of stuffing to chicken and corn? Yeah, I’m a bit obsessed. 😉
I can’t wait to make this stuffing again. Maybe with some pork chops next time?
