Review and Giveaway! “Totally Together: Shortcuts To An Organized Life”, by Stephanie O’Dea

September 24th, 2012 by Lisa

September 28th, 5pm pacific time. This contest is now OVER. Thank you so much for all of your wonderful comments!  The winner was randomly selected, and has been notified via email. Congratulations to Verette O.!

I just know you’ve all been waiting and hoping for this giveaway!

Without gushing too much, I have to tell you that I am a HUGE  fan of Stephanie’s books.  Her “Totally Together” journal has been life-altering for me.

Being a stay-at-home mom for almost ten years, I hate to admit, I never really planned anything.  Well, except for meal planning, which I do religiously every week.  While I was used to planning projects at my last “office job”,  I never did get into the groove of planning my household chores.  Instead, I proclaimed Monday, “Housework Day” and ran around trying to do everything on that day.  The “plan” then was to do anything I didn’t get done on Tuesday and so on through the rest of the week.  Definitely not the wisest way to go about things.  The worst part was that it seemed I never did finish everything and felt a little defeated by Friday.

I started using “Totally Together” this past August.  I love how the pages are laid out!  So easy to follow!

By following Stephanie’s many time-saving tips in the beginning of the book and checking off  “The Daily 7” each day, I finally felt like things were starting to get under control.  After reading “But That’s Why We Had You!”, I even decided to finally give my daughter some chores (taking out the garbage and making her bed).  I had tried to do this in the past, but never really made it stick.  I still have to nag a bit to get it done, but it’s working pretty well.  She even vacuumed for me last weekend when I hurt my back.

Here is my journal for last week.  Yes, I know, not everything is checked-off.  Sometimes things like bad backs can disrupt even the best made plans, but I still feel like things haven’t gone too far off of the rails.

If you have been thinking about getting better organized, getting your home and your life in order, then this is the book you’ve been looking for!  So much great advice in a little, spiral book!  If you are already a fan of “Totally Together”, then you should pick one up for next year.  This book  makes an excellent gift for that college student who is just starting out on their own or that “just married” couple who have just moved into a new home!  It’s also a great gift for any mom who needs a little sanity brought back into her life!  You can purchase “Totally Together” by clicking HERE.

Stephanie is giving away a free copy!  Yay!!!
