2011 Last Minute Gift Ideas and Give Aways! (18 items)

December 12th, 2011 by Stephanie O'Dea

December 16, 9am pacific: This contest is now over. Thank you so much for all of your entries— I love reading your messages. Winners will be randomly selected (during nap time) and will be notified via email. Have an absolutely wonderful Holiday season and a fantastic 2012. xoxo steph

I love my job. Not only do I get to work from home (in my pajamas!!) I have talented friends who write and develop wonderful things and they send them to me. I’d like to share some of my bounty with you—- these books (and dvds) all make wonderful gifts, or you can keep them for yourself!  Because we’re getting awfully close to the beginning of Hannukah and Christmas Day, I’m going to run this giveaway pallooza until Friday morning (12/16), 9am pacific, so I have time to get your packages in the mail before the weekend.

I have 18 items to give away.  The winners will all be randomly selected, and winners will be notified by me, via email on Friday, December 16th.

The Spunky Coconut Cookbook (1) by Kelly Brozyna. This is a sugar free, casein (dairy) free, gluten free cookbook– what more could you ask for?! There are 115 recipes in this book, with 65 gorgeous color photos. Kelly is a homeschooling mom to three, and is kind of my mommy idol. I ADORE her.

The Future of Food DVD (2) by Deborah Koons Garcia. Elana Amsterdam sent these videos along— Adam and I watched this documentary over the summer and were quite inspired to boost up our own vegetable garden. (actually, the movie made us want to leave the suburbs, buy a plot of land, erect a yurt, and live off the grid. We needed to settle for growing more basil…) If you want to learn more about genetically modified foods and what they do to our bodies/planet, this is a life-and-mind-changing piece of work.

Gluten Free Cupcakes (1) by Elana Amsterdam. Speaking of Elana…. she’s got a new cupcake cookbook out and the kids and I LOVE it. I’ve got a new one to send out to a lucky winner, because our own copy is dog-eared and drawn in. Our family favorites include flourless white chocolate cupcakes, triple chocolate cupcakes, and the cream-filled chocolate cupcakes.

The Money Saving Mom’s Budget (5) by Crystal Paine. Is 2012 your year to pay back outstanding debt, finance the college or retirement accounts, or learn to live simply? Crystal’s new book is perfect for anyone trying to make sense of budgeting in this crazy economy. Crystal’s book includes a bare bones spreadsheet, and worksheets for goal setting and time management. Crystal knows her stuff—she paid CASH for her house, and has been featured by Dave Ramsey.

The Pure Kitchen (1) by Hallie Klecker. Hallie is a certified Nutrition Educator and former personal chef. Her new cookbook has 100 recipes that are gluten, dairy, and refined sugar-free. This book will teach you how to shop, how to read nutrition labels, and how to cook from scratch— but in a clear, not-preachy way. I met Hallie last year at the Gluten Free Expo in Chicago—she’s an absolute delight, and you will love her no-nonsense recipes.

The Gluten Free Grocery Guide (3) by Triumph Dining. 30,000 products and 1200 brand names are listed in this guide. There is no need to wander aimlessly around the grocery store, Triumph Dining has done all the research for you already. Are you looking for cereal? bread? fruit rolls? Triumph has gone aisle by aisle, and given you the specific brand name of all the gluten free items housed in national grocery store chains. This is a wonderful tool for the newly-diagnosed; I wish I had one 4 years ago.

Totally Together: Shortcuts to an Organized Life (5) by Stephanie O’Dea (that’s me!). I began work on this book over 10 years ago, when my youngest was still a baby. I wanted a resource that included ALL my to-do lists— home, work, and personal. In this purse-sized book, you’ll get 7 Daily To-Dos, and weekly, monthly, and seasonal lists and planning ideas to help you turn chaos into calm–plus a simple organizing system that can prevent you from ever again having to do a last-minute company’s-coming cleanup, desperate purse purge, or frantic family dinner. Take a deep, cleansing breath….. help is here.

There are 18 items here to win! To enter, simply leave a comment below. If you’d like to garner additional entries, you can tweet about this contest, or write about it on your own site and/or facebook page. If you do, leave another comment here with the link so I get you counted.

Best of luck to all! The winners will be announced on Friday, Dec 16th 9am pacific. Have a wonderful Holiday Season. I’m looking forward to 2012! It’ll be a good year, I promise. xoxo
